I know. I know it's be FOREVER but you'll just have to forgive me...I've been...busy. Life has been a whirlwind this past year. Here's what's happened...

Russ has worked his little tail off his last year of MBA school. He was selected to be apart of the venture capital team for Notre Dame, worked with a non-profit to build a library in Uganda, and committed to P90X--losing 20+ pounds, all while keeping up his secret identity and saving the world by night.

Heather's three jobs are finally coming to a close which leaves more time/energy to play with Hannah. Woohoo!

Hannah grew up, potty trained herself, finally grew some hair, and is spunky as can be. She thinks she's pretty cool and we have to agree.

Russ is graduating is three weeks and we'll be moving to St. Joseph, Michigan where he'll be working for Whirlpool in their Financial Leadership Development Program. This is the house we'll be renting and it's only a few blocks from...

...THIS! I know it's a lake but it sure is a beautiful beach with lots of fun things for a family to do. We're looking forward to our new home.

It makes me warm and fuzzy inside thinking about stuffing myself with all those nostalgic foods. So imagine my dismay when Russ and I both get the stomach flu the day before Thanksgiving. It was a humbling experience to have my husband incapacitated on the couch while my daughter stands by the toilet and watches me throw up. Talk about miserable. Some friends took Hannah for the afternoon until I felt I had enough energy to disinfect the whole apartment. Ironically, getting the stomach flu made this Thanksgiving extra special. Russ and I were feeling well enough to go to the Thanksgiving dinner on campus (which was fantastic by the way) and it was our first meal in a day or two. I've never felt so full of gratitude at a Thanksgiving meal as I did at this one.
I was adamant that I was going to use our Walmart blender until the motor went up in smoke but Russ used his sales techniques and sold me. Now I wonder how I ever did without it.

Yesterday I made a green smoothie and not once did I have to use my special smoothie spoon (so named because I have on more than one occasion caught the plastic spoon in the blades of my Walmart blender...luckily I was not the one to get the plastic spoon pieces in my smoothie...sorry again Russ.).

After the smoothie I used my Blentec to grind wheat for some homemade wheat bread.

For dinner I made Creamy Potato Soup with my Blentec. It even warms up the soup for me so it's completely ready to eat when it's done.

Then for dessert I made some Orange Sorbet. All I had to do was put in two orange with a little sugar and ice cubes then hit the ice cream button.

I LOVE MY BLENTEC!!!

http://www.willitblend.com/Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05693270568103688005noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9098009789451224272.post-10836568114706997522010-10-30T20:47:00.000-05:002010-10-30T20:47:44.211-05:00Behold...She Speaks!!!

I dreamed of the day when I would finally hear Hannah's first words. Oh how my heart would swell with pride and love. Finally after so long of waiting the blessed day arrived. Hannah looked lovingly into my eyes and said..."Ball!" ...Not exactly what I was expecting but we're making progress. She also says "bye." But the communication barrier is finally starting to come down. I've been teaching her ASL and she can now sign milk, ball, all-done, and bye-bye. In addition to her language skills her motor skills are also picking up. She has now designated a shoe box as her stepping stool which she strategically places around the house. Can't reach the piano keys or climb up on the couch? Problem solved! Nothing's going to stop this girl.
I don't shun old age...I embrace it. That's why we went to Kirtland, Ohio for the weekend and spent it with a whole bunch of old people. JKJKJK. We met up with my grandparents and my aunt and uncle in Kirtland and had a great time! It was awesome to be around family. I forgot how good to feels to be around people who inherently have to love you. It was Russ' first time seeing the Church History sites there so that made it even better. I just love the sister missionaries who give tours at the Visitor Center. They are so adorable and really made my day.

If I were to describe South Bend, Indiana in one word it would be...Football. The whole town shuts down on game day. Planning on driving somewhere? Not on game day. They literally block off the entrance to our apartment complex and hold us captive. Russ went to the game on Saturday and loved it. It costs $75 to take Hannah to the game so I'm doing a trade off with another couple where we take turns looking after each others kids. So I'll make it out to half of the games. I'll have more to report next week about the actual football experience when Notre Dame plays Michigan...awesome.

South Bend is treating us pretty well. No one here knows we have a blog so I can be honest...it's kind of a dumpy town. Campus is beautiful and Russ loves his classes. Notre Dame works on a quarter system so mid-terms are already next week. He feels stronger than ever that this is where the Lord wants us to be. Recently he got a job as an interviewer where he'll interview people who apply to the MBA program. I'm grateful that fell in his lap. ANY income is welcome at this point. :)

I've started teaching piano lessons and I'm learning how to quilt. I love where we live. The community features make up for the old, 500 square apartment with a heavily stained toilet that makes me gag every time I have to clean it. The backyard is a giant fenced in area where all the kids play and the community center is nice. We live in on-campus family housing so everyone's in the same boat.

Hannah started walking this week. She gets so excited when she walks across the room. Her little feet start going and a few steps into it she starts giggling and it progressively gets louder until she reaches the other side of the room. Then we throw little celebration where she bounces up and down. I love it.

All in all, we're happy to be here. And we still miss Texas.
Forgive the title but Russ and I have become addicted to watching "How it Should Have Ended" videos. I've included a link to my favorite. I find myself laughing randomly throughout the day as I think of it.

Russ has been traveling like a mad man--if you don't believe me just check out his beard...he really does look like a mad man. He went on a hiking trip in Colorado with the young men from our ward and loved it.

Then he spent the following week in New Orleans for work. I don't know how you feel about New Orleans but I personally think it's the fifth ring of hell...and it's hot too. But he seemed to have fun with people from his work. I think it was hard for him to say goodbye to everyone at the end of the week.

Russ playing with the alligators in Louisiana.

HEATHER

I've been packing up our house since we move in 4 weeks! Craziness! We rented out our home which has been a great blessing. The tenants will be moving in a week after we leave. Although I should list this under Russ since he's the reason we saw this movie in a full priced theater but we saw Eclipse...on a real date...at 10 in the morning. All in all, I liked it better than the book. How can you not like a movie based on a love triangle between a human, a vampire, and a werewolf. I mean...who wouldn't be into that?

HANNAH

Oh yes...how could we forget the munchkin? My favorite thing about Hannah right now is she likes to play with a cow bell that Russ picked up somewhere. It gives me an excuse to say "I got a fever and the only prescription is more cow bell!" Hannah is a CLIMBER! She's cruising along the furniture and enjoying her new found freedom. She had her 9 month check up and is measuring tall for her age (90%) and a little on the heavy side (75%). Pleasantly plump I like to say. Recently she started babbling in this raspy, strained voice we quickly named the "Godfather voice." And her new thing is sucking in her cheeks and making kissy noises.

I guess he expected me to get all excited about it and take it over, but to no avail. And then we had a baby. Oh how that changes things. All of the sudden this blog has become the link between Hannah and the grandparents. So thank you Russ for encouraging me to start this and yes, "You were right. I was wrong." (He loves it when I say that).

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_r8zYEfJ30bc/TBA3R6mzIrI/AAAAAAAAADE/f1ezHFb_VSo/s320/P1050178.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5480941527439188658" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_r8zYEfJ30bc/TBA3RGnwrgI/AAAAAAAAAC8/CUZsVMnqG7o/s320/P1040914.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5480941513484578306" />

HANNAH
Our little girl's a crawler! She hasn't quite figured out how to get into things yet but she will. She seems to be content playing with the door stoppers and pulling herself up on all the furniture. A couple weeks ago she got her first tooth. So long to the toothless smile days. She's such a fun kid! She loves to laugh and Russ and I love to make her laugh. Parenthood is so much more fun than I ever imagined it to be.

MBA SCHOOL
Russ decided to go to Notre Dame this Fall for his MBA. We're pretty excited about it but time is sneaking up on us. We're moving in 7 weeks! There's still so much to do! My job is to figure out how we're going to fit into a tiny on-campus two bedroom apartment. It's amazing how much stuff you collect when there's room to collect it.

FOOD
Since our last post we decided that eating healthy is the key to staying healthy. So we started following the Word of Wisdom more closely. Now we eat very little meat, lots of fruits and vegetables, and somehow Russ convinced me to make homemade whole wheat bread. We also have a Green Smoothie everyday. If your wondering what a Green Smoothie is check out . Russ has lost 25 pounds and I've gone down a dress size. The best part about it is we feel better and it's been a really easy transition.

TRIPS <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_r8zYEfJ30bc/TBA8sdD5WbI/AAAAAAAAADU/lrN6pbQZURg/s200/P1050661.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5480947480922773938" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_r8zYEfJ30bc/TBA8roG8tfI/AAAAAAAAADM/-XyjSLwOVjo/s200/P1050533.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5480947466708497906" />
We went to Hawaii in April for Russ' sister's graduation from BYU Hawaii. It was awesome! The highlights of the trip were Janelle's senior recital, shark cage diving, and skydiving. I highly recommend skydiving to all who are able. :) We also went on a road trip across the South. We went from Dallas to Houston to New Orleans to Mobile to Destin to Savannah to Columbia and back to Dallas. (It was a 9 day trip). The highlights of that trip was staying with Brother and Sister Bone--a senior couple Russ served with on his mission--and going to an alligator farm.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9098009789451224272.post-81779431971744962202010-01-31T21:45:00.000-06:002010-01-31T22:17:50.147-06:00Back in the land of the livingWe're back. kinda.

Feeling quite a bit better although Hannah has a cold again. But all in all, we're on an upward swing.

So here's the latest: We're debating right now about which graduate business school to attend in the fall. I've been accepted to SMU and Notre Dame, both great schools, each with advantages and disadvantages. We're definitely leaning Notre Dame's way mostly because we feel good about it. The logical choice is SMU since we already live in the Dallas area. Hannah's pick is Scranton University but I just don't think I can handle Michael Scott as a professor for two years. Dwight would be great but Michael can really chafe after a while.

Let me know what school you think we should attend and why.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9098009789451224272.post-61365794705453541962010-01-10T22:11:00.000-06:002010-01-10T22:51:47.889-06:00Sick Sick SickWe're all sick.

Russ - Strep Throat
Heather - Stuffy nose
Hannah - Cough and cold

No fun at all.

Oh yeah - by the way, Hannah is our baby girl. She is now almost 4 months old and is wonderful to have around. Every time she makes a sound, smiles, defecates, or whatever, we are sure to exclaim, "She's a genius"! (in honor of all those wonderfully biased parents out there that think their kid is the greatest. I love it!)

Let's see - updates since Easter...

Heather - stopped working, gave birth to Hannah, ate some brownies, started teaching gospel doctrine class at church, changed a few diapers, became enamored with Julia Childs, bought Russ THE OFFICE seasons for Christmas, and slept some.

Russ - applied for MBA programs, slept a little more than Heather, became a babydaddy, got some spine injections, ate some chips and salsa, worked a bit, got sick for the first time in a long time, and bumblebee tuna.

Hannah - (correction - updates since Sept. 20) ate well, smiled a lot, rarely cried, won over all the grandparents in about .2 seconds, transitioned to her own room, scored a 700 on the GMAT, solved the credit crunch, and lept small buildings in a single bound. Let's be honest: Our kid is a genius.

Dog "Skippy" - YEAH RIGHT, LIKE WE'D ACTUALLY HAVE A PET...

Anyway - life is good. We're trying to figure out what the forseeable future will hold for us. We may be getting back to our Irish roots or becoming Methodists. We'll just have to see.

Here's the kid. I mean genius kid.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 305px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_r8zYEfJ30bc/S0qttO8zffI/AAAAAAAAAC0/TZeoZaQcVNY/s320/Hannah+Smaller.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5425339693740031474" />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9098009789451224272.post-35001131933634203732009-04-12T09:46:00.000-05:002009-04-12T10:09:03.315-05:00Easter UpdateHappy Easter! Heather and I are celebrating our first Easter together without family closeby. While we love our families, it is kind of fun to celebrate as our own little family.

Baby update: Heather is feeling good now that the 2nd trimester is in full swing. First trimester was a little rough with much "morning" sickness. Right...morning... We find out in about 3 weeks what we're getting. Possible options: boy, girl, dragon, liger. My vote is for boy.

New House update: We moved out of the apartment arena and into the land of the homeowners. Great time to buy, coupled with Obama offering to pay our mortgage payments (he came out with a special "Cramer Stimulus Package" just for us. cool huh!) made it an option we couldn't refuse. We are very happy in the home and are excited for friends and family to come visit. We now live in Little Elm, TX, about 30 minutes north of where we used to live in Carrollton.

Lawn update: I battled the Amazon jungles of 10-inch backyard grass yesterday and let me tell you what: It was a battle. Previous homeowners didn't mow the grass in the back for a couple weeks...we didn't have a lawnmower for a couple weeks = stinkin long grass. Luckily Lowes was more than willing to help us out with the lawnmower and weed eater (also covered in Obama's Cramer Stimulus Package) and I went to work. Then I cut the grass too short and probably killed it. Only time will tell. It's day to day now...We'll just have to hope for the best...

Work update: Heather now has a 30 minute commute to work but she switched around her work schedule to miss traffic. 7am to 3pm is great except for the 10pm sharp bedtime in order to get up at 6am. Oh well, that's what a DVR is for anyway right?

Russ is up to his eyeballs in another big project that is close to the launch date. This one has gone smoother than the last one but it still has been a lot of work with many late, late nights on the phone with our programmers in India. Great peeps - I would love to go visit some day.

Travel upate: We'll be in Utah the first week in May for my little sister's wedding. Excited about that. Also headed to the West Indies to study the locals and come up with a solution for our current economic woes. I think they used multiple ridiculous stimulus packages and that seemed to work out for them... (you guessed it, all expenses paid by the CSP - Cramer Stimulus Package)

Happy Easter! We love the Lord and are very blessed to know the importance of this time of year.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9098009789451224272.post-65745022863129513712009-02-28T08:28:00.001-06:002009-02-28T08:29:03.120-06:00UPDATE from the long lost Cramer kidsSaturdays are nice! Well, let's just say that Heather and I were abducted by the "Work" aliens and use that excuse for absence and tardiness and overall disregard for our 'lil blog. Blog, what a word, sounds like snog as in snoggin...

Life is good, great, grand, wonderful. Getting around to doing taxes, looking at houses to try and purchase (although we've been outbid now like 4 times...grrrrr) trying to enjoy free time, working away like maniacs, went on a cruise to Mexico earlier in Feb, had a great family Christmas in Utah, excited for March Madness, hoping that byu basketball wins a game in the tourney, hoping that byu basketball makes the tourney, slightly worried about the political situation in America, looking for the end of the world to come along... :) but all in all, generally happy with all aspects of life!

Tennis rocks. I've been playing quite a bit lately.

Heather is a goofball and makes me laugh every day. I think she can make up a new accent by the hour. Sometimes I can't understand a word she says, and sometimes I am the only one on earth that can understand.

Maybe we'll do better with this blog thing, maybe not. We'll just have to see what happens!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9098009789451224272.post-53099527477578513082008-07-25T01:00:00.000-05:002009-02-28T08:29:43.577-06:00Unknownnoreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9098009789451224272.post-76279576401007266702008-07-25T00:33:00.000-05:002008-07-25T01:11:09.404-05:00Chillin in HoustonUpdate:
Updating the blog from a hotel room in Houston. I got bidness tomorrow and then we are helping Heather's brother move into their home this weekend. Her ma and pa are down as well and so it should be joyous.

Big meetings this past week with work. It's been crazy but exciting. Dark Knight was scary. Seriously.

I've watched a lot of BYU Football highlights on Youtube lately. The season starts very, very soon. I'm loving it.

Happy P-day, Pioneer day that is!

Here are the photos from a recent photo shoot in the kitchen:

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_r8zYEfJ30bc/SIlnBb2w7vI/AAAAAAAAABI/uYlzX57l0Dw/s320/July+Pics+034.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5226822116895158002" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_r8zYEfJ30bc/SIlpOi45thI/AAAAAAAAABg/jZ2GfeMToSc/s320/July+Pics+035.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5226824541144725010" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_r8zYEfJ30bc/SIlpPNlJlrI/AAAAAAAAABw/m7JoviSPo2k/s320/July+Pics+038.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5226824552604604082" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_r8zYEfJ30bc/SIlpPZ9bX5I/AAAAAAAAAB4/3tLbsYoYO44/s320/July+Pics+039.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5226824555927658386" />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9098009789451224272.post-21835459976846371372008-07-04T07:55:00.000-05:002008-07-04T08:17:11.492-05:00The Dallas LifeWell well well... so much to say, so little space to say it. Life has been joyous since we got settled in to Texas living. Apart from 3 weeks with me in Utah and Heather in Dallas (back treatment for me) things have run pretty smoothly.

Here's a brief recap of what is going on in our lives right now:

EDUCATIONAL
Heather
Taking Nutrition 101 Independent Study from BYU. Now we eat healthy. Really healthy. And much less... This is the first of multiple required courses to get into Hygiene school.
Russ
Playing around like he is actually going to think about the possibility of getting serious about taking the GMAT again for business school... As you can tell, much is being done in that department.

SPIRITUAL
Heather
Called as Bear Den Mother in the ward. YeeHaa! Heather has kinda already been a bear den mother since she married Russ... This is nothing new. :)
Russ
Working in Young Men's. It's rockin! In order to fit in and be approachable, we have to buy an XBOX. It's a requirement.

FINANCIAL
Heather
Work stinks and then you die. Heather is preparing to become an acrobat and run away with the gypsies in the circus.
Russ
PSI is good. Had some good months. A few big meetings in conference rooms the size of New Hampshire. Ridiculous. Happy, had a great time in Florida at a big conference. Almost died though from a lightning bolt.

PHYSICAL
Heather
Works out in our apartment gym quite a lot. Not too shabby setup.
Russ
Swims a bit at the local Golds. Nice setup, just a bit of a drive. Still Mr. chubby bunny.

MOVIESICAL
Heather
Watched "Get Smart" the other day and quite enjoyed it. That's some funny stuff!
Russ
Loving the DVR and movie channels! Recently enjoyed "Stranger Than Fiction". Became an instant Russ Cramer classic.

BOTTOM LINE
We are happy, healthy, and excited to go to Germany in September! No chicks in the nest yet means we need to travel a bit while it lasts. Plan your next vacation to Dallas and we'll show you a good time. The accomodations in Russ' office are top notch. Air mattress, access to massive library, ceiling fan... Awesome!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9098009789451224272.post-17062202296637617972008-05-28T02:26:00.001-05:002008-05-28T02:30:02.736-05:00Good Lookin'
The road across the wild and exciting north-west Texas frontier makes you do some funny things...Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9098009789451224272.post-65205071416940135842008-05-10T07:37:00.001-05:002008-05-28T02:28:48.844-05:00Moving: The SagaWe made it to Dallas!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com4
